when is the best time to book.

It is always best to book exactly when the club window opens which for most HGVC resorts is 276 days before the check-out date. I would suggest that you book your first three days and then walk (add more) the reservation until you get however many days that you would like.

No, you can book 9 months (276 days) from when you want to go. For the end of June 2019, start looking end of September 2018. Walking the reservation means you start your booking with the minimum three days. Then you add a day every day at the end of your reservation until your vacation is completely booked.

Yes. If you were booking your home resort in June 2019, (that starts at 12 months) you could start reserving 12 months from the day you want to start your trip to end (or day 3 of your trip if you are walking your reservation).

Home Reservations:
The home reservation window is 12-9 months out from when you want go.
You can book a H-R after that, but you'll be competing with club bookings.
You must stay 1-week in the season & size you own & use only points for the year.

Club Reservations:
Your club reservation window opens 276 days prior to check-out (3N minimum).
Some resorts, like "By Hilton Club," have more restrictive booking windows.
For high-demand locations, like Hawaii, you need to book at the 276 day mark...
Use only the 3N min, and then each day, add another. Days begin at 12AM ET.

You can't walk a HOME RESERVATION to make it more than 7 days, but in most cases you shouldn't need to. If you want a reservation at you home resort that is more than 7 days you can either make 2 home reservations if you own 2 weeks and want 14 days, or make a 3 day reservation at the 9 month mark and add on if you want to make it the number of days you want.

Home reservations are based on CHECK IN day. Club season is CHECK OUT day, thus the need to sometimes walk a 3 day place holder.

Hi can you clarify what H-R means? Sorry, not familiar with the TUG lingo :(
