Members - I have once again completed a presentation on WYN Ownership. We have stayed at numerous WYN Properties and love the experience. We vacation twice a year at weekly intervals and love the experience. I declined once again to purchasing because I just can't seem to reconcile that there is a huge amount of inventory for re-sell. I am desperately seeking advice from this Forum regarding purchasing from WYN or Re-sellers. What are the Pros and Cons?
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Wyndham is in complete disarray right now with new rules that punish owners, and a new computer system that is not functioning. You don't want to buy with them right now.

You can often rent Wyndham timeshares for less than the maintenance fee - I recommend that you investigate that instead.

To get an idea of the chaos going on, read a few threads on the Wyndham forum:

Thx - I have been reading and reviewing many of the comments regarding the new Website. It does not look like a successful rollout and hopefully this will smooth out over time.

The problem is not just the roll out - the new rules are a huge issue, and I would not expect them to smooth out. IMNSHO, Wyndham is to be avoided right now.

BTW - this chaos has been going on for close to a year!

Do you have a NSHO on which company would be a good target to look at right now? I have only stayed with WYN.

There's no problem continuing to stay at Wyndham resorts if you've decided you like them. What Denise is recommending--and I heartily concur--is that you avoid taking the ownership plunge in WYN. The Wyndham rollout of the new website has been a complete fiasco--and some insightful TUGgers have speculated that the website is only the front for the real problem, which is WYN's gross mismanagement of its own inventory which may have placed the entire trust at risk.

If you like Wyndham, you can certainly rent from Wyndham owners without incurring the risks of ownership.

If you're looking for similar-quality timeshare systems that do not have the Wyndham headaches, I suggest you look at Hyatt, Marriott, or Hilton. Maintenance fees at these resorts are generally reasonable and the systems are well-run and well-managed. Vistana is also an option, but MF's tend to be higher.

Good information - Thx
