One more thing. Bay Club has the following check-in rules.

There are units assigned to certain check-in days. A unit may be assigned to a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday check-in. You can't move them from a particular check-in day. For example, unit 334 is assigned to Saturday. If you want that particular unit from Thursday to Thursday, you can't get it. You can only get a unit that's on the Thursday to Thursday cycle.

Which is why there are 4 HGVC codes for most units. One code for each check-in day. (At least so I think. I own at Bay Club, but I am not a member of HGVC.)

Thank you! Just what I was looking for!

Resurrecting this old thread due to an interesting question in the HGVC owner FB group. BD5 and BD7 appear to both be the same 2 bed types but they are different point amounts for the same days. The example the person in FB used was May 30 to June 6. They are different point amounts but both 2 bed. The only difference is the check in day for HW. Their question was about HW check in day impacting point requirements.

Normally, HGVC properties have a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday HW check in and weeks start on Fridays plus seasons are whole weeks so also start on Fridays, when there is a season change. With BC having a Thursday HW check in option, it messes up this math.

The person in FB keeps saying that the HW check in day affects the points but really it is just the week start date and season change date that does but it does appear, when booking at BC, BD5 and BD7 are the same type of units but not the same price, even if you try to book the same dates.

Are there other properties with a Thursday HW check in? I know that KL has pricing by phase so you could have the same unit, at least in description, being different point amounts for the same dates.

Am I missing something about BC? Trying to figure out for up best explain this to the person. Most HGVC properties won't have this so you can just look at the season calendar, weeks planner, and points table to do the math on how many points a stay will cost you.... But not, necessarily with BC unless they have their own calendar starting on Thursdays and their own week planner, that is different than HGVCs.

CLs (any resort with different check in HW days) will also run into this issue.

But, I don't think that we, at CL, have a Thursday HW check in so the weekend check in date will all be the same season. I guess that you could have a season change on a Friday that would impact a HW that starts on Saturday or Sunday.

We have Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You will get the same issue for the correct dates.

I have to ask...what does CL stand for?

Since weeks start on the Friday and seasons are whole weeks, we should see it less but I guess if one type of unit has a HW check in date on Saturday and another has it on Sunday, and they are different seasons because of the HW check in date, you could run into the same situation when booking across them. I had not thought about this issue before
