I have teamed up with WRMI, Radio Miami International, to start a new monthly Shortwave Radio broadcast.

I've been working on it for a while and tonight is the Premier Broadcast. It will be at 11pm Eastern Standard Time on
9455 kHz.

The name is VOSR International, The Voice of Shortwave Radio. It will be a light show talking about all things Shortwave Radio.

I finished the show up last week and it is all ready in the queue for broadcast tonight. It's not perfect but you have to start somewhere. Lol

If you can't tune in tonight, it will be Rebroadcast on Fridays on the same station and time until the next month's new broadcast.

Hope you can tune in. Aloha

Jeff, is there a theme to your broadcasts, or is it just dipping your toe in the SW arena? Hope it's a successful thing for you.

Waaay back in the day, I worked with the military's MARS radio system, coordinating with HAM radio operators back home to make phone calls for ship's crewmembers to their loved ones when we were overseas. It was pretty rewarding work that I enjoyed a lot.

Yep, the theme is Shortwave Radio. So Radios and equipment, Programming, anything Shortwave radio. It's a light show, great for wnyone unfamiliar with Shortwave. 🤙🏻

I'll talk about Ham, Time and weather broadcasts. 🤙🏻

an online radio. Just key in 9455 kHz
Cool. I should have figured that exists. Doh. Way back in the day, (1987, 88, or 89 I'd guess) a college friend of mine started a company that did a website that allowed people to get (FM, I think it was, but maybe AM too) radio broadcasts from around the world. Well, great idea but it didn't take long before "traditional" media wanted that game and wasn't interested in licensing their site or buying their tech or any of that. Lawsuits ensued. ... He went back to McKinsey, wiser but not richer.

I just remembered. Before goign back to McKinsey, the same few guys, realizing that the Intellectual Property was the key, signed a deal with MLB to put baseball games on the www. It wasn't long before MLB screwed them over and THEN ... back to McKinsey.

So how did it go last night ?

Bill
On the technical side, a little rocky. For some reason the file stopped in their automated system and kept restarting with their automated system filling in with random music. They got it fixed and it was fine after that.

WRMI contacted me and everything should be good for the Rebroadcasts on Fridays at 11pm Eastern Standard Time on 9455 kHz.

Propagation wasn't the best last night and early on I wasn't able to receive it well here in Hawaii but things improved throughout the show and the last 15 minutes, it came in pretty well here in Hawaii.

I received communications from all over, Upstate New York, Chicago, Florida, New Jersey, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ontario and Indiana just to name a few.

I knew it wouldn't be flawless since my recording wasn't. Lol
As long as the kinks are out for the rebroadcasts, it should be good. So, I'll find out next Friday. There are no analytics to any of this so it's all on the communications I receive. So far all has been positive but I will know more on Friday with a rebroadcast without any glitches.🤙🏻

I don't have an internet radio, just a serious/XM radio and AM/FM radios. wish i could hear your broadcast. Hope its goes well Slip. Was a Radio communications Tech in the Airforce reserves. So very familiar with short wave and HAM radio tech.

You don't need anything special for an internet radio. You just go to the website @slip put in post #4.

I just have to say, knowing you and Kim, and seeing you both "in your element" at home on Molokai, how much pleasure it brings me, seeing you living your best life in Hawaii. I know the challenges you two endured to get there, and now, here you are, with your telescope and short-wave radio stuff, and Kim, with her hula and ukulele pursuits. It's so satisfying, seeing you both being happy at things you enjoy so much.

Congratulations to you both. As your friend, I'm very proud of you both. Big shaka to you both!

Thanks for that Dave. It sure seems like we have come far. It's so hard to believe it's been six years already.

I want to return the sentiment towards you and Jeff. You both have had your own long journey and it has worked out so well for you both. You both have made a huge transition and made it look seemless.

I'm sure we both have our "seams" that we're trying to keep in place. You've been there six years - hard to believe, for sure. Come end of June we'll have been in Nevada for five. As they say, time flies when you're having fun. :D

The Four Mousekteers Journey sounds liked a Hot Topic for a short wave board cast. IMHO LOL

New Broadcast of VOSR International this Saturday at 12am Eastern Time on 9455 kHz. 🤙🏻

The show went out great tonight. I received correspondences from all over reporting very good to excellent reception. I got it fairly well here in Hawaii. It came in stronger as the show went on and I heard it much better in my headphones.

Correspondences came from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Mexico, Canada, Indiana and along the along the West coast.

Here's a sample from a segment on the Radio Shack DX-394 Shortwave Radio. This is my reception from Hawaii. It is broadcast on WRMI out of Okeechobee Florida.
