New owner wanting to borrow their own points

Hi,

I very recently purchased an EOY Wyndham from Ebay and my points usage begins on 2013. I understand that as soon as the closing is complete, I will own this product even though the points are not posted to my account until 1/1/2013. Here is my question: after 1/1/12, am I able to borrow any of the allotted points available 2013 to book a resort during 2012?

Thanks for everyone's postings, thay have been a major help in understanding the WP system and have helped me very much.

Yes, in two ways.

1: For an Express Window reservation (90 days or less) you may borrow from the future use year. Note that if you cancel this reservation, the points are returned into the *reservation's* Use Year as cancel points. You can use those to book reservations farther than 90 days out, as long as it is in the same use year as the original.

2: You may also place points into the Credit Pool, and the resultant credits are available for use for three years from that date. Again, any Pool Credit reservation that is canceled is returned to your account as cancel points in the reservation's use year. Cancel points may not be (re-)pooled.
