Resorts Owned
Massanutten, Wyndham, WorldMark, Vistana, Marriott Los Sueños, Vidanta, Flora Farms, HGVC Max, and some independents
I've been waiting for the transfer of a $1 Williamsburg Plantation 4 BR EOYE and was a bit perplexed when I noticed that the Daily Management web site no longer lists that resort by that name. Turns out that the name is in the process of being changed to Vacation Village at Williamsburg. It's still a work in progress; the description of the resort in RCI still uses the old name and II doesn't reflect the change at all. I figured it out when I got an offer for a $99 no points/TPU exchange into select Vacation Village Resorts and saw the new name on the list of Williamsburg resorts.

Was there yesterday and saw no evidence. I suppose that VV is now getting on the bandwagon. Just as Diamond changed Greensprings Plantation to Greensprings Vacation Resort and Powhatan Plantation to The Historic Powhatan Resort. Rewriting history as the staff didn't appreciate working on a plantation.

Saw in the news that they're changing the name of Rhode Island to remove the Providence Plantations part of it, too. I hadn't even realized that was part of the State's name.

They erased Plantation because the state is not a plantation.

Next up will be erasing Island because the state is not an island.

So, they'll just call it Rhode? Hmmmm....

Oh yes, smallest state with the longest name!

Update: It appears to be formally changed now to "Vacation Village at Williamsburg."

It is reflected in the RCI Directory #DJ37 (but not II ), & the resort confirmed the name is changed.

I liked the new name, it gives the resort character.

... kind of like Vacation Village in the Berkshires, Vacation Village at Bonaventure, Vacation Village at Parkway, and Vacation Village at Weston, which are in the same group.

Have they displayed their new name entering the resort ?

It's updated in II now, too.

There is a change to the enter of this resort .The county is adding a round about circle direct in front of this resort on Longhill Road. It is not completed. Plus they have added side walks from the resort to the Seven-Eleven store on Longhill Road.. There is a new development going up right across from this resort.
We have been at the Manor Club for the passed 2 weeks.

The new name sign for the resort have not been displayed. There is only a small sign with the new name on it .
IMHO, you can miss the sign at night; it is that small.
