Sounds like you are in or near Cali. One of my favorite II trades is San Luis Bay Inn. Nothing fancy, but a studio is large with a full kitchen. Avila is a hidden gem with a huge south facing bay and lots of boats and amazing scenery. Lots of bike paths so i usually buy a bike and give it to charity before we leave.

My favorite II resort is Riverpoint in Napa. 430 or 870 points for a week in wine country. We've been going there one or two weeks every year for 20 years now. Easy trade. Primo location. The accommodations themselves are "meh." But it's clean, comfortable, and location, location, location. There are dozens more California resorts which check all the boxes for me. But we like NorCal wine country most, so that's where we go.

Interval points stretch so much further than the Hyatt system. Sure, you can grab a mid-week stay and conserve. Can't do that with Interval. But Interval costs so little in points that we'll book a week and stay only five days if that's what makes logistical sense. And depositing a small amount adds up. They automatically take the oldest points. So a 120 point deposit means you're well on your way to a full week in a studio.

Update: I called Hyatt and the agent helped me to log in. He said that he was prepared for my call because this has happened to many owners. He asked permission to reset my password for me, and then I was able to log in using a temporary password, and then I changed it. He said that I can use an Interval account to make exchanges even if it is past the time to deposit my 1,000 points, so I might look around later. However, I don't seem to have an Interval account set up with my Hyatt week. Do you know how I go about adding my Hyatt week to my existing Interval profile? My current profile has my Westin, Sheraton, and DVC weeks (3 separate account numbers under one login).

Thanks for the encouragement about using my Hyatt points. I used to have zero problem with Hyatt and loved it, but the last 8 years or so haven't been so good. Setting up Interval might help!

I think this is the II number for Hyatt 800-622-1747. Call them.

You're paying for Interval Membership whether you use it or not. It's a place to dump your spare points and grab a week when the 16 HRC properties aren't doing anything for you.

If the HRC stuff were to evaporate tomorrow, I'd only miss Carmel and Sedona. But it wouldn't be that big a deal. II is where it's at for me. So much vacation time for so little money. There isn't a deal like this anywhere.

I call 800-GO-HYATT and press the number for II. II's website is easier to use than Hyatt's. You can browse every day and see if anything works for you.

You do have to log into Interval separately. You won't see your points there - they get transferred either from EEE or CUP or even RCUP after the booking. You track your points on the Hyatt side.

Hyatt points do go far in Interval and it is a nice option- especially when the points life in EEE is extended 2 years.
Good luck!
