Don't be so cynical. You know they will fully lay out the total cost and calculate the maintenance fee cost for this type of stay for the tour guest so they are fully informed before they make a purchase.
Just like they used to promote how easy it was to trade into Disney...

I’ve stayed at Great Wolf Lodge a couple of times. I was there for two nights and that is about all I could handle. I couldn’t imagine staying a whole week. BTW, you can use the water park early on your check in day and you can use it late on your check out day so for a two night stay you get to use the water park three days.

I agree. I was only previously showing how many pts were required for a full week for comparison to HGVC point requirements.

I looked at the point cost to stay at Great Wolf and it is way too high. This is a poor addition to the club as it is not comparable to the point cost of the HGVC Timeshares. .

MARKETING 101..... You can stay here... It will be FUN...

NOT Cheap, Not a good value, but they can sell FUN.

There are discounts outside of HGVC that are alot less than using points. People need to educate themselves.

RCI used to have pretty good (not great) cash deals for Great Wolf thru HGV. Now that I'm looking they don't seem to have any availability at all on RCI - strange..

I can't imagine spending that much $$$ on a stay, but on TUG almost everyone looks to value for their stays.

Well, this is true - but someone above showed that you can stay for cash cheaper. The only usecase I could see for this then is somehow you have around 30,000 HGVC points you otherwise don't know what to do with them, and are too lazy to figure out renting, saving for next year, selling the unneeded weeks on, converting to HHonors points, etc... This sort of person might exist, but I would bet the crossover with wanting to go to Great Wolf Lodges but also not wanting to pay cash seems small to me.

But hey, someone is subsidizing our better deals by wasting money this way.

To me, I think you need to be providing a good deal or access to something I have no other way to get.

Agreed.

I see it as a way to get young families to want to buy retail, which 99% of the time is probably not what I would recommend to them. That added with the reduce selling price by reducing points and not being 100% clear about it will confuse many novices. By this I mean people will think thye are getting a week for $10,000 sales price and only get a night. The math will not work.

There is a Great Wolf Lodge located in Williamsburg, Va. They are always busy, with reduce prices .
