New feature installed - how many units are left. Without fixing old issue

Maybe they should fix the website before adding features. It used to work well. I would say it's been 2 years since it's been close to functional.

Still getting the Ooops message.

Now that I've looked at it this is actually pretty cool, minus the ghost inventory. I can see it really helping the cancel rebook process for people who don't have enough points handy to rebook, then cancel. I see so many dire warnings about potentially losing a unit in the 30-60 seconds it takes to cancel one's original unit and rebook another at a discount, but if you know the range of units that are available, you could do it with more peace of mind. (The few times I've done it I've just figured that the odds of someone swooping in in those 30-60 seconds are small enough that I can live with it, but other people may want more reassurance.)

It's only cool if it works @paxsarah. WorldMark has always had that feature, and it does work in WM.

I've been doing some searches that come up with some red, yellow, and green results, and even the red ones will let me start a booking with them - so it works. It's just that there's *also* still a preexisting ghost inventory problem, it appears, so some results may come up as red but really have zero inventory. It doesn't mean the color coding doesn't work, though.

I deleted all cookies and browsing history and am ready to try again. I get the oops message with inventory in slow seasons, including Kingsgate in February. That is usually easy to get. This is pretty frustrating. I need to get my phone from the bottom of my purse to get a verification code.

That room count is functionality from WM. It has been working over there for a while.

I suspect your reported issues may have more to do with something specifically related to your account and less about ghost inventory as others have reported. If you can provide a couple of specific examples where you're getting the Ooops response - I'm sure a couple of TUGGERs can see if they get the same response - just to help validate whether it's a specific account issue for you vs something to do with ghost inventory in general.

Oh the irony (helping cancel/rebook).

I mean, not in the sense of rebooking one's own cancelled unit. But in the sense that there's an existing unit in inventory, and someone wants to know the chances of losing that unit in the 30-60 seconds it takes to cancel and get their points back to rebook it. I mean, I see where you're coming from, but I really just mean a way for someone who's not flush with points (maybe even not VIP) and can't do it in the order of rebook/cancel to take advantage of inventory that's available to everyone during the discount window. Not creating one's own inventory as in days of yore.

Believe it or not DVC is worse.
+1. Wyndham website is way better and more functional than the DVC website. Disney simultaneously has one of the most valuable/best timeshare systems in the world while also having one of the worst IT infrastructures for said timeshare system. (And there are only 16 resorts!)

Or as I recently did, cancelling and rebooking two units in order to trim enough nights to get enough points for an additional reservation that I decided to make. I did this last week just before the new feature was added, and I'm probably lucky I did, seeing the reports of the failed accuracy of the feature. If I had relied on that, and lost my original reservation (s), I would have been really annoyed.

Even knowing what we generally think about the working of the web site, it's pretty pathetic that a new and potentially helpful feature is not reliable enough to count on the day they release it.
