Where do they come up with this stuff?

Anything to try to convince owners to upgrade to VIP - basically they are trying to resurrect the old cancel/rebook as a basis to convince folks to upgrade.

Yeah, I get the purpose and strategy but some of their lies are quite creative. Somebody has to think of them. I have this vision of Sales Department off-site brainstorming sessions -- lots of alcohol and other intoxicants. "Hey, I got one! How about we tell them their accounts have to be Wyndham-ized?"

Sure, but I don't get using this angle for existing VIP's. Lying is not going to gain you any good will. And most of us are not going to buy more points from them anyway.

This was a pretty easy one to verify is complete BS, and when people inevitably find they were lied to again, it's just going to make some of them less likely to attend updates.

This last update I was particularly pissed with the sales weasel lying to us and making a specific emotional ploy to my wife about how "since you own a deeded property, your kids HAVE to inherit it and are stuck with it, so convert to Access". I about walked out right there because of the boldness of this blatant lie, but also one of their entire sales premise is that this is an investment and you want to pass this down to your kids.

If part of thier sales pitch is fear of having to inherit what is essentially worthless, that says a lot about their product and their desparaation.

They tried this on me during a WorldMark update at Marble Falls in 2017. "Buy developer credits so Wyndham will take back your credits and your kids are not stuck with the maintenance fees." I told the sales manager WorldMark would just cancel my membership, but he was quite insistent. I then told him it was something I would not have to worry about for at least 20 years. That ended it.

I ended up doing 2 and posted about it on TUG. I was lucky I guess, they were less hassle than the 2 HGVC presentations I did.

Where can I get a copy of Resort Directory. Is it free?
Not sure why you quoted me here, but if you look at the first post, there's a link to the online one. Not sure that it's possible to get a printed version, I haven't seen anything about those.

I asked for a physical copy of the most recent physical directory as part of an update in December and got one. It's now the previous version I guess, but the only real value in them is having the points charts in physical form handy to you, and points charts never change, so that should always be useful.

I called the customer service and ask for a copy of recent directory. He said that I have to pay $12 to get it.
