5 days is the day you mailed it (post office stamp) or emailed it if an email option was listed on the contract.
I am not sure whether it is working days or calendar days. I presume that will also be mentioned in the contract.

They may not call. If they call, ignore it. They will try to lower the price to entice you.

Hi ! Has anyone gotten a call or email from developer as soon as they received the letter of cancellation?
We are tracking the shipment . I sent 3 copies in different ways including certified . Should have received by today …
When they say 5 days … does it include weekends? Also should we post within 5 days or should they receive by the 5 th day ?
Anxiously waiting …very stressful !
thank all!
Settle down. They are busy doing rescissions and don't have time to answer every call or email. They ARE obligated to process your rescission, however they are NOT obligated to tell you of it's receipt, progress, or completion. Yes, we know it's stressful, and can take up to 45 days for your refund to be posted to your credit card. Probably will be sooner. It just depends on when in your card's billing cycle the refund gets to it.

As suggested, go celebrate, or shop resales in the TUG marketplace. You have done what you needed to do by finding TUG and sending a timely letter. It's out of your hands now. If the salesweasel calls, don't answer. No good can come of it.

Hi ! After you sent the cancellation letter ..did you track your shipment? Did you get an acknowledgment of receipt from them ? Did they email you , or call? They should receive mine soon . I sent 3 copies in different ways including certified . Anxiously waiting …very stressful .thnx!

Post by fifth. No, they won’t call. If they do, don’t answer. Relax, have a beer (or tea, margarita, or apple juice).
Thank you again. This is a great support group! .

Will calling cc company help by any chance ? At least to keep them informed that such happened and waiting for refund . Have heard that companies like this can charge for different things on the cc s provided. Not sure if true …

You do not need to call your credit card. However, check with your credit card company to see how long you have to dispute the charge. This is usually 60-90 days. Make sure to dispute the charge before the 60 day mark if you have not received your refund. Until then, relax and carry on with your life. If you still want to learn about timeshares, ask questions. Timeshares can be great if you understand the system and learn how to make it work for you. Once you learn the system and decide to buy, buy resale.

You'll never get a call from the developer UNLESS they want to talk you out of rescinding.

As long as you received your Postmark in a timely manner then it doesn't matter WHEN they receive your rescission request. They must act on it.

Relax and allow up to 45 days to receive your refund.

Hello everyone! We got the refund in full. THANK YOU sincerely for all your prompt advice in dealing with this nightmare. We still do not know how we actually got into it.
* we sent the initial paperwork out by fedex on last day of our vacation ( when we should have been enjoying Vegas)
* on return home I found this amazing forum which was a huge relief !
* sent out two more sets - a certified; and a certified with return receipt . I know it was probably overkill but….
* we received the refund approximately 2 weeks after sending the papers .
Thankfully we recognized this within 5 days. Feel terrible for ppl who d miss this .
Again THANK YOU ALL for your support.

Hey, we're happy to hear that you got your contract rescinded and your refund. But don't beat yourself up over this. This has happened to many of us here on TUG. It's the same procedure almost every time. The developer lures you into there with a gift basically saying, "Hey, it's just a 90-minute presentation to hear the benefits of vacation ownership. No obligation. No pressure. What's the harm?"

Then, when you get there....well, you can figure out the rest.
