Need some computer help

I already did the return yesterday afternoon. After I got rid of S mode, I downloaded turbo tax. I find it difficult to do turbo tax on my iPad.

While many of you really know your way around computers, I don’t.
I have learned a lot on Tug, and I appreciate it. I never had to use a computer for work except for word processing. I have been retired 26 years! Think of all the changes since the 90s . And my arthritic hands don’t do well on iPhones and iPads.

I’ve inly been retired 13 years and I know what you mean. I worked in IT but I’m not the least bit interested on keeping up with everything on a daily basis. When I need some help, I either ask here on TUG or contact some friends who are still working in the field.

Support for Windows 10 will end in October 2025

After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10. PC will still work, but we recommend moving to Windows 11.

What I am totally perplexed about is that even though all signs of 2923 and 2024 tax returns have disappeared, when I downloaded turbo tax premier, it filled in the code that was on the software I purchased. I did not to enter it. Second, the tax software knew I had filed for an extension on the state return and wasn’t aware that I had filed on federal, because I actually filed the federal from the IRS site. But I had to enter all other information from scratch.

I had purchased a new laptop awhile back, it came with Windows 11 - in S mode which I did not realize. I wanted to add Google Earth Pro, and it wouldn't let me. I don't remember how I did it, but I got it out of S mode, and then I could add it. No problems since. (Knock on wood!!!!)
