Need info on Gatlinburg Town Square from owners

I am trying to get information on GTS 2 bedroom lock-out units in the newer phase 2 of the resort. There appears to be both a summer flex ownership (deeded weeks 24 through 43), and a winter flex ownership (deeded weeks 1-23 or 44-52). I understand that if you own a summer flex week, it is more desirable because you can book any of 52 weeks, but if you own a winter flex week you have to pay an additional $175 besides your yearly maintenance fee to book a summer week. This information about the $175 came from a phone call I made to the resort.

Trouble is, most people with these units for sale on eBay claim they can get a summer week for no additional charge. I would like to believe that, but it conflicts with what the resort told me.

I would like to hear from owners at Gatlinburg Town Square that really know what is correct.

GTS flex time

I no longer own at GTS but when I did you could only book a week in your flex time. Summer flex booked summer weeks only, winter flex booked winter weeks only. When I bought I was also given the line about paying an extra fee if I wanted to book a summer week. Turns out I had to deposit my winter week with RCI and request an exchange for a summer week. They have new owners now so things may have changed. Hope this helps.
