I currently have Worldmark/Wyndham Avenue Plaza Resort booked for 3/21 (1 bedroom but really want a 2 bdrm) but have a search in through RCI as the reviews don't seem too promising for this resort....anyone been to NO recently and can recommend another resort...I have read the reviews and am looking at Quarter House, Mardi Gras Manor I, Plaza Suite HOtel REsort and Club La Pension...any others recommended or any to take off my list?

Any advice appreciated.

We stayed at Club La Pension in 2006. We liked it. It is right in the French Qtr. The location was great and there is a nice Itilian place to eat right next store. They even had a hot tube on the roof with a little garden and tables. We were able to walk to everywhere. Enjoy NOLA...

Quarter House

We stayed Sept 2007...Great time and planning 2009 trip.

Have stayed at Quarter House and Club La Pension many times -- recommend both. Sorry, I don't know the other two.

Thank you to those that have answered! Cross your fingers for me that I get one will ya :)

mardi gras manor I

hey roadsister --

in 2003 or 2004 we stayed in a 2-bedroom at the mardi gras manor I -- we LOVED the location -- in a "neighborhood," right in the french quarter, on the downriver side -- the unit was what i believe to be a "typical" resort -- an old building "done over" -- the unit was darker than i like, since there are not many windows, but of good size, and the resort had a SMALL swimming pool....

when we return to new orleans one day i wouldn't hesitate to stay there again....

MUCH good luck in getting EXACTLY what you are looking for....

oh, also the one thing we didn't do, which i WISH we had, was to "go out and view the iris fields," IF katrina didn't destroy them somehow -- i HEAR they are something to see...

Hey Gloria,

Miss ya....

Thanks for the info...will check out the fields if they are still there....

Avenue Plaza

While the location itself is not as central, I think that you would not dislike the Plaza. The fitness center/spa is very nice, the rooms are spacious, and you are on the streetcar line to get into the quarter.

Of course, FQ timeshares are more convenient such as Club La Pension

Quarter House had a great location....parking was a bit challenging if you have a car....would stay there again though.

Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy,
What did you do about parking? I've never had a car when I was at Quarter House.

Thanks,

Fern

Plaza Suite

I own 3 timeshares here and I bought them for the location. Plaza suite is in the warehouse district 1 1/2 blocks from the quarter, right next to Harrah's. Many of the new restuarants are in the warehouse district. If you do not have a car and want to do things outside of the quarter, it is very convenient to the St. Charles streetcar, canal st. trolley, and riverwalk trolley besides its easy access to the quater. Parking is free for owners but those who trade have to pay. Units are small like all New Orleans timeshares but I love the atrium as we often travel with friends. The people are really friendly and if you need anything, Chris at the front desk is wonderful. If you do get this timeshare, be sure to ask him for restaurant recommendations.
