I am heading to Disney World on Sept 20th for 10 days. I am having a hard time picking a resort that sleeps at least 6 and close enough to the parks. I am showing Silver Lake , the Fountains Resort, Club Wyndham Cypress Palms, Holiday Inn Club Vacations At Orange Lake Resort,Orlando's Sunshine Resort II, Summer Bay Orlando, and Vacation Village at Parkway. I love the Fountains but, it seems too far away. Can anyone tell me anything that would help me? Thanks in advance!

The Fountains is close to Disney World. It's a good choice. I really don't like many of the RCI resorts in Orlando. I used to be a big fan of Hilton, and then they added the daily fee, so that is a no-go for me. Summer Bay is nice enough. Orange Lake can be nice, but it is so far away. Vacation Village at Parkway is not one I would ever do, simply because exchangers get worse units.

I would wait and try for Mystic Dunes or Cypress Pointe. Enter an ongoing search for those. Both are nice.

Cypress Pointe shows up for me but, it caps at 7 days. Bonnet Creek shows up too but, it is only 7 days too.

Last 2 times we stayed at Vacation Village At Parkway (Last Call in 2020, ditto 2019), we got full-size 1BR units in Bldg. 20 (2020) & Bldg. 21 (2019).

The time before that, we got a full-size 1BR unit in Bldg. 10 that showed its age but was totally OK. (I don't remember right off if that was Last Call or something else. Regardless, it was via RCI & not our own paid-for time, which by then we had sold off or given away).

What is important to you? Easiest commute to the theme parks? Luxurious units? Resort amenities?

we want to be fairly close to the parks since my so will be a year old at the time. We also want to have decent pools for days not spent at the pools. Also, wouldn't mind a splash pad.

I haven't stayed there before, but for what you are looking for maybe Silver Lake? The back entrance is 1-2 traffic lights from any WDW theme park, so an easy commute even though it is on the Animal Kingdom side of WDW.

One of the board members at Val Chatelle stayed there a year ago. He said it was a dump. Not our experience, but he really had a terrible unit there. He said the fees and exchange fees were just too high for the unit they received. I felt badly because I told them it was nice and kept up. I was going by my experience. I saw pictures. Terrible unit.

I am almost considering staying at Bonnet Creek for a week and then splitting to add 3 days at Silver Lake to make my 10 days.

Since 2006 we have stayed 8 times at Vacation Village At Parkway & always had a nice time -- and never had a bad stay or a bad unit at that resort.

As it happens, Vacation Village At Parkway is where we caught the timeshare bug in 2002 -- took their timeshare sales tour but did not buy (because the full-freight price was too high). Years later, we owned there resale. Later, we downsized by selling off our resale Vacation Village At Parkway 2BR triennial points unit & buying a resale Grandview At Las Vegas 1BR triennial points unit -- about 1/2 the points for approximately 50% of the maintenance fee cost. (eBay all the way.)

Through it all, Vacation Village At Parkway has remained 1 of our favorite timeshare resorts. There is every likelihood we will keep going back any time we're scheduling a trip to Orlando-Kissimmee & hunting for bargain timeshare reservations.

BTW -- it's hard to beat the location of Vacation Village At Parkway, right at the intersection of I-4 & Route 192, close to Disney & everything.

We only ever had 2 gripes about Vacation Village At Parkway. One time, check-in service was beyond awful when they kept everybody waiting till 1AM or so & we had to stand in line 90+ minutes waiting our turn. That was a major serious gripe. Fortunately it happened only once. Other times, the parking lots start filling up & it's a challenge to find a spot close to the building entrance. All in all, that's just a minor gripe.

Detailed accounts of our stays at Vacation Village At Parkway are in the TUG Resort Reviews section.

We've stayed at The Fountains many times and never had a bad experience. It's not the closest to Disney but an easy drive.

We have booked several 2 bedrm units at VV@Pkwy a few times for extended family vacations. The 2 bedrm units are lockouts so you get 2 separate bedrooms, 2 living rooms and 1 full & 1 partial kitchen as well as 2 full bathrooms each with a door from the bedroom and the kitchen/hall. Our teen grands (1 boy, 1 girl) loved having the smaller side, they each had private sleeping areas (1 on the pullout couch), a private entrance to the bathroom, their own TVs and a little separation from Mom & Dad. If you have smaller children that layout might be a concern due to the distance (& 2 doors that automatically lock when closed) between the master and the 2nd bedroom. There are many buildings in the complex now and each group of buildings has its own pool. Many pools get afternoon shade due to the building positions and there is also a kiddies pool with a splash area. I don't remember the building number & my resort map with it marked is at home (I am not). It might be visible on the Google maps satellite view.
