We just bought into the Marriott Ko Olina on Oahu. I was wondering if I could trade one week for a week at a Marriott on Kauai?

If we can arrange with another owner to trade directly, can we avoid the fees? How can this be set up?

Welcome to TUG, John.

Yes, of course you can always trade privately. Look here on TUG in the Timeshare Marketplace (see the tab on the home page), or redweek.com, or, for Marriott-to-Marriott trading, see ownertrades.com.

Welcome John

I sent you a PM.

There are plenty of Waiohai owners who would probably love to trade into a 2BR at Ko Olina. Just send lots of emails out to Kauai owners. Don't rule out other developers like Starwood who has a brand new resort on Kauai.

PS - Note that many owners at Kauai Beach Club are 1BR owners so 2BR for 2BR trades there are a little more difficult than Waiohai. 1BR for 1BR trades will be fairly easy.

PSS - You will most likely get a "bonus week" (AC) from II for depositing your 1BR portion of Ko Olina and should easily be able to trade into KBC for an equal 1BR. You will then have your studio and your AC to use in the future.
