Have a week booked in mid August for Hilton Head but now we hear that our kids are going back to school earlier than expected due to the Covid virus so we can't use the week. What would you do with the week? Marriott has not offered any help other than to turn the week in to Interval. We aren't really familiar with using Interval so aren't very comfortable with that. Do you think we could rent the week out? If so how do you go about doing that?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

From another thread, I discern that you should do the transfer to II prior to 60 days before move-in - if that's what you decide to do.

I agree with poster above. Deposit with II before the 60 day mark if you still have time. Even with the points programs, I give several weeks a year to II - always get wonderful trades with a lot more value than using my points. A good time to acquaint yourself with II!

@tlwmkw - I cannot speak to MVC questions, but are you sure your kids are going back to school early?
Any plan announced now (today) has to be considered a work in progress at this time.
But I am curious as to what is the overlap between your vacation and school? Are you talking the first couple of days of school? How many days?

I think it is fair to say things will be crazy when school starts this year and it remains to be seen how many students actually come back. Distance learning is likely to be a reality this year - perhaps you can take advantage of that for a couple of days??

Don't throw in the towel on your vacation just yet - I can't imagine a time in recent memory where a family vacation may be more necessary than ever.
