I recently purchased a platinum 2BR Canyon Villas via resale. The 2009 year is already reserved for April 25 - May 2 which I can't use. If I deposit this week in II this close to the reservation date, what am I likely to be able to exchange for? Am I likely to get an AC?

Or am I better off just trying to rent the week.

You'll do fine with trading power this far out. Four months of lead time won't get you the best trading power, but you'll still do okay.

However, before depositing, you might want to look at other alternatives.

If there is a week within your season that you can use, you can change the reservation for a fee of $29.

Also, that week you have reserved doesn't have anywhere near the trading power of weeks 9 to 13. You might consider calling Owner Services and asking if one of those weeks is available. If so, it might be worth changing weeks and then depositing. Even though you'll have a month or so less lead time with your deposit, the difference in the strength of the specific week should more than make up the difference.

As for whether your week qualifies for an AC, you can call II and ask. If not, ask whether one of those other weeks qualifies and then decide what to do.
