hey guys
has anyone stayed at this resort in the RECENT past and would you stay there again? can't find any reviews after 2006 on the boards.
thanks in advance

Have not stayed there but do walk past it regulary. Outside and beach area are always very nice.

We stayed there several years ago. It's ocean front, but most rooms are ocean view (sideways). There were zero activities sponsored by the resort. The resort was damaged by a recent hurricane and I'd guess it's been updated as a result. It was rated as a gold crown when we were there, but the only reason we could think of why was that it was 'on the ocean'! It was standard in every aspect I'd rate a resort on.

It is an older resort

Native Sun is an older resort in a sleepy area of Pompano Beach. If you have acess to any other resorts, you might be happier. Not a lot to do close by, you would need a car - did you check trip advisor?

No advice on Native sun but I'd recommend you also stay away from La Costa as it's pretty run down too unless you get it on a Last call it's not worth an exchange. :)

We stayed there three Thanksgivings ago. It's a small, older resort but clean and right on the beach. We met people there that had been coming there for generations....same week each year. The people were LOVELY...very homey atmosphere, families, and quiet. My daughter helped the maintenance guy "clean" the fish pond every morning and feed the fish, they had a huge assortment of beach toys that folks had left over the years....we really liked it and would go back.

If you are looking for a Marriott, this is not it. If you are looking for clean, comfortable, relaxing, quiet, small with a nice staff this is a home run.

The Native Sun is in Lauderdale-by-the- Sea not Pompano Beach but listed as Pompano in RCI. The Sea Watch restaurant next door is quite nice and the supermarket and center of town is within walking distance.

Lunch at Sea Watch is reasonable priced. Go upstairs for a indoor or outdoor dining looking over the dunes at the ocean. A little less formal, same menu.
