Anyone have an idea what East Coast (PHL) to Nassau airfare tends to run during October? I have an exchange into Harborside for next October, and I'm trying to decide whether I should look into FF award seats (which would open up in a few weeks), or whether I'm likely to see an airfare sale before then. I'd like to say around $350 would be as much as I'd like to spend per ticket, otherwise to minimize cash outlay, I'd probably look at FF miles.

Thanks.

Jeff

I just paid $300 for DC to Nassau in May on USAir.

October is one of the slowest months of the year for travel to and from Nassau. You should easily be able to obtain low fares.

Keep in mind that the international taxes are high. I have a round trip ticket from JFK to Nassau for early December. The basic fare is $109. each way but the international taxes cost almost $100. over and above the basic ticket price, bringing the cost up to $310. (which is still pretty reasonable).

When I checked availability of frequent flyer seats on Delta, AA, and Continental, there was good availability at 30,000 miles r/t but the tax I would have to pay was almost $60..

I'm a little spoiled. When I went there 2 1/2 yrs ago, I used USAirways FF miles. Not only did I get the exact flights I wanted (nonstop both ways), they were at the reduced-mileage Saver level. Plus, USAir's future at that time was uncertain, so I used miles that had been in our accounts for years, which easily could have loss in bankruptcy.

Right now, I'm seeing (for mid-Sept, can't see October yet) fares around $510 for nonstop, $370 for connecting. I guess there's still room (and plently of time) for it to come down.
