At Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Napili Villas, do all the units have ocean views?

On a II trade, are you guaranteed to get the unit on your confirmation?

Denise,

At Napili Villas, half of the units are Ocean Front category, and half are Island View. Lahaina Villas has OF, OV, and MG view (but not Island View). I do not believe you are guaranteed to get the view on your exchange, but other TUGgers have reported that, at MOC, they do tend to get the view that is on their exchange.

I hope that helps!

Best,

Greg

I obviously cannot say that you are guaranteed to get the view on your confirmation, but MOC's track record and rhetoric suggests that you will.

We stayed in a Napili 1br unit on an II exchange last October. At check in, the front desk person told us our room view would be what the confirmation states, and ours was a mountain view. The original room was on the 4th floor and we asked to upgrade, and they moved us up to the 8th floor. The view overlooked the parking structure, but it is a beautiful view of the mountain in the distance!

My wife and I just returned from a week at MOC. We were on an exchange from MGRC Tahoe. The initial confirmation long ago said garden view. We called a couple of times between confirmation and arrival to see about switching to an ocean view. Called both II and the resort front desk directly. Each time the answer was no. At check-in, we tried again and again were told no. The resort did not seem that full to us, but it is partly because a lot of units are being refurbished. While we were disappointed by not being able to get ocean view, the "garden" view is really more of a mountain view, and it was quite nice. The only problem was noise from garbage trucks, which was substantial. We attended a presentation for the DC club. Very heavy sales pitch with some misinformation, similar to what has been noted in other posts. The resort staff (outside of the sales folks) were all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

We stayed in Napili 2 bedroom last year during wk 52. Agree with comments, the first 4 floors or so are right over the parking structure. They have a generator they run frequently which is a little annoying and seems like nobody can either remember their parking space or the rental car they have because they hit the remote-lock to beep the horn all hours of night.

If you're using DC points I recommend getting a better view. I will gladly pay more points for a better view in the future at MOC.

Most of the unit in the Napalii tower are mostly ocean view and few are island view.

The island view units look over a very pleasant parking area (not a parking garage!!)
Many of the ocean view units are low enough to hear some noise from the pool in front of the bldg. But most of the time the noise isn't too bad.

Hope this was helpful.

Ok a little secret someone named GT told me, see Lahaina Oceanfront & South, see the green bar on the left right before it turns yellow. That's the unit you want.

Sparty, you have a good memory...!!!

It's Unit 6211 -- definitely worth the room request if you're Mountain/Garden View.

Best,

Greg
