It think it depends on the week/season you have. I gave mine back for minimal cost a few years back. Loved the resort, but hated Diamond. They always seemed to taint the stay. I bought it on resale on ebay for $1 about 10 years ago and stayed there 4-5 times. Diamond does a nice job maintaining and renovating, but they are terrible at pushy sales tactics. I had a 3 BR lock off fixed week I liked. I wasn't part of the club. They wanted like $20K to move my week into their club. No thanks. Because the maintenance fee's were going sky high and you can rent those on the secondary market for near nothing, I dumped it. Now I have 3 HICV locations each bought for $1 on ebay. More options and they seem better about controlling MF's.
