Hi,
We are heading to Myrtle Beach mid August for 1 week.
We are traveling with 5 people, myself, my husband, my 19 year old son and my 23 year old son and his fiance.
Please give us ideas for restaurants and things to do.
We are staying at Wyndham Ocean Blvd, but will have a rental car.
Please let me know of anything I need to reserve ahead of time.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
Sue

If you like seafood go to the Flying Fish. Chesapeake House was also very good. Don't go to the wax museum, bad replicas, a waste of money.

Pier 14 is a great place for lunch. Great ocean view and food.

For Italian, try Sole Italian. My daughter (aged 9, but quite a foodie!) and I *loved* it. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside it is nice and intimate, and the food was *amazing.* All locals.

Enjoy your time, and be prepared for oppressive heat between 10 am and 6 pm! :D

Try the MidTown Bistro on Hwy #17 near 17 th street in North MB. Delicious food....make reservations because it can get pretty busy. They have a special every day that is very reasonable. The Flying Fish is lots of fun and has everything you may want.....nice atmosphere as well. For a fun time in a restaurant try Mexican food at Nacho Hippo behind the McDonalds near 34 or 37th street. They have beer specials and great food. Enjoy! :cheer:

Thanks for all the replys.
One more question, the teenagers want to jet ski and para sail.
Any suggestions on where to go for this?
Thanks, Sue

How was your August stay at Wyndham Ocean Blvd in NMB?

Our stay at Ocean BLVD was wonderful, a great family vacation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean view presidential room that was awesome. A few years ago we stayed in a 2 bedroom presidential in Panama city, but Ocean BLVD was better. The rooms have been recently refurbished, I could not have asked for anything better. The staff is amazing. We had a couple of maintenance issues and the staff's response was so quick, and there was always a followup phone call to be sure we received the service we requested. We were in Tower 2 on the top floor. The beach is very nice, but the pools are on the small side for the amount of units. We had so much fun in the ocean, it didn't matter. Parking is a problem. We often had to park across the street in the garage where tower 4 is located. But truly, it was OK, just a quick walk across a street that wasn't all that busy. Though, I can understand that may be a problem with anyone that has trouble walking. When we checked in, we had to get our parking pass. That was a little annoying. I had to tell them at least 5 times, I was not interested in attending a time share spiel. I was very firm and even though I was, they called me on the second day. I told them again firmly, I was not interested, they didn't bother me again. They did tell me I need to call corporate office and ask to be on the do not tour list. All in all we had a wonderful time, no real complaints. Sue
