Three older foodies going to Marriott Oceanwatch - looking for recommendations of good quality restaurants for meals. We usually like going to a pier where fish is caught and eating at a restaurant that uses the fresh catches. Would appreciate any suggestions as it has been years since we have been there. I kind of remember a nice place that we use to go for an early bird special that was more for locals and it was great but just can't remember the name or if I am mixing up with some other vacation location. Getting old is not fun.

Bimini's Oyster Bar sounds like your kind of place. It's on Lake Arrowhead Road, just off US 17. Can't be more than ten minutes from the Marriott.

Also, Pier 14 Seafood Restaurant, maybe 15-20 minutes down the coast.

Just outside of the entrance to Marriott's OceanWatch, you have "Hook & Barrel". Right next to "Hook & Barrel" is "Croissants Bistro & Bakery" which we like for breakfast. https://hookandbarrelrestaurant.com/

"Sea Captain's House" is on the beach and has been around for at least 50 years. It's one of the more upscale seafood restaurants in the area. https://www.seacaptains.com/

There's "Crab Catchers" in Little River on the Intercoastal. http://crabcatchers.com/

We usually drive down to Murrels Inlet one day and go to one of those restaurants off the Murrels Inlet Marsh Walk (Dead Dog, Drunken Jack's, etc...) https://marshwalk.com/

We usually drive to North Myrtle Beach to go to "OD Arcade & Lounge" for one of their reasonably priced daily specials. They list their daily specials on their website: https://odarcade.com/north-myrtle-beach-ocean-drive-od-arcade-and-lounge-happy-hours-specials In addition, they are one of the few places that have deep fried banana peppers which go quite well with cold beer.

We also usually go to "Rip Tydz" to eat when their calendar indicates that they will have live music. It's a very large bar/restaurant with ocean views. They are located on the beach boardwalk. https://riptydz.com/

There is also "Mr. Fish Seafood Market & Grill" https://www.mrfish.com/market-menu/

We prefer the breakfast restaurant "Eggs Up Grill" over "Johnny D's". We go to "Eggs Up Grill" a few times during our stay at Myrtle Beach. They have 2 or 3 locations in the area. https://locations.eggsupgrill.com/sc/myrtle-beach/

Enjoy your stay at Marriott's OceanWatch!

If you find yourself wanting to try out a hole in the wall type place with an award-winning chef - head over to Fire & Smoke Gastropub - some of the best food in all of MB IMHO. Not inexpensive but if you're a foodie it's worth trying out. One of the best old fashions I've ever had was from this place as well, great bartenders.

We typically also hit up Wicked Tuna down in MI area at least once while there - they use a lot of local fisheries for their catch of the day menu items. Love sitting out on the covered back deck area when the weather is nice.

Great recommendations thanks for sharing! We will be down in North MB Cherry Grove at TOTG for two weeks in late May/early June timeframe and want to try out some new places in addition to hitting our old haunts LOL.

We had lunch at The Conch Cafe in Garden City when I was there visiting my parents earlier this month, and it was among the better meals I've had while there.

There is a restaurant beside Fresh Market near OceanWatch that served a very good breakfast. I cannot remember the name of restaurant. But you can walk to the restaurant and Fresh Market.
