I had an invitation from a HS friend to join her on this social website.....
then when I opened it info that several people were looking for me....some of whom I would love to contact...started a very cursory profile and then it had me log in to my yahoo account...and presto sent out an email to EVERYONE in my address book asking them to join......I feel ridiculous....bosses, HR people...you get it..relatives.....and it is a fee based program so a big scam...so I have now tried to write to apologize to those receiving the email...so if you get an invitation from this company....stay away......

I kept wondering why I would get these random friend requests from people I did not know....now I know

This happened to me too! Just last week. I cannot believe it. It just hijacked my entire contact list. I am so furious! I had to send out a mass email to every single one of my contacts saying I did NOT invite them to join this rediculous spam network! UGH. It's like a nasty virus!

Even LOV got one from you!! :)

I got an invitation from you, too, at another t/s bulletin board. :)
If you haven't yet, you may want to post a warning there.

Terrible hassle, isn't it?

We got a warning ( and apology) from a college friend of my wife's about "Tagged". She fell for it and it apparently does the same thing. But we never got the invitation, thankfully.

I got 4 from Yahoo LOV group from 4 different women. I opened the 1st one but didn't respond. I hope I'm not stuck because I opened trhe 1st one.

I almost fell for it, but when they asked for my email password, I closed it out.

Over the weekend my Mom got an email from her old boss asking her to go to TAGGED, that he had posted some photos for her to see. What she did was to open it and it asked her to click yes or no, if she did not respond that the person sending it to her would think she was not interested in his photos. She then went to part of the email that asked for her email address and I think a phone number too, etc, but she did not put any of that in. Then it said something if she wanted to be a VIP member, it would be a cost, but other than that it did not ask for money. She asked myself and my husband if we had ever heard of that site and we both said no. I suggested that she compose a seperate email to her old boss if she knew his email (she did know it because they have kept up over the years) and the email was the same as the one that the supposed scam email came from. He responded a few hours later and told her no, that he had not sent anything to her, that someone somehow had gotten into his address book because other folks were contacting him about this email also. So, I am glad that she did not open it to see the photos....she is 83 years old and she has her wits about her, I must say!! My mom is smart, not too much gets past her!! :cheer: I just hope now that since she did partially open it, that that site would not now use her email address....we will see, I hope not....

My DH had 4 spam emails last night from himself. WE can't figure out how that happened. Anyone know?

I continue to send out emails.....so sorry......and so dumb of me.....I never fall for the Nigerians :))

Tagged

I got tagged twice yesterday. Both from people with AOL email address that I am in their address books. I opened first email, but did not respond to it. What I find interesting about the Tagged ones is that they contain a photo of the person sending it to you. I'm assuming they get into your photos on AOL. AOL did away with their photos a little while ago.

I fell for the email from "Tagged" and thought my friend was sending me photos. I did fill out all the information. You can cancel this. Somewhere in the area where the specifics of your account are, there is a place to hit cancel and I have not received any email or spam since.
