My first rental with Koala for 2026!

I hav3 had a terrible year with rentals. I will be canceling my sixth reservation because I haven’t gotten even an inquiry.

I met a really nice gal who offered me $400 for the week and once I learned her story I totally understood it. I’m a penny pincher myself so no reason to take a low bid offer personally.

I think TUG is growing in influence … the only fly in the ointment are the scammy people who come through on occasion. So the distrust factor stinks…

I had a woman insist I get the PayPal business account so she could have some protection. PayPal is really tight fisted when they have your money and no customer service but it is very cool to be able to take a credit card…which I recently successfully did. I eventually had to send a thank you with tracking to eventually jog the payment loose. Not really set up for transactions completely electronic…

At some point when an offer is really low you think of friends or family who might want to use it and people you might want to thank…birthdays, weddings, Christmas etc …plus who wants to tangle unnecessarily with the renting rules for some of these crazy companies??

I posted this week starting Friday at Christmas Mountain for $500 on local facebook page.
No takers, but f got accused of being a scammer by multiple people because my price was too low

People make up all kids of sob stories to try and get cheap rentals. I wouldn't believe anything anyone ever told me about why they coudln't afford to pay whatever your asking price was.

No sob story! They figured out how to bebop around on $400 a week after a house fire and decided they enjoyed the adventure besides saving up … that’s too low for someone like me who paid $1200 mf for the home week, but since then I have seen deals …too bad not allowed to rent them… HGVC has Sedona 80% off right now and it would fall in that $400 a week category if you slice and dice the price per point. Many RCI last minute extra vacations look to be a similar steal also…she had a blog…but being in accounting very busy around tax time. Reminds me of the folks who figure out how to live on cruise ships.

I've heard some decent things over the years regarding RedWeek, but my own experience trying to rent out an extra timeshare week has not been impressive. I have a 4th of July week listed for a very decent price and haven't gotten a nibble. Come Monday, it's getting deposited in RCI or GPX. I tried using Redweek two other times and no results either, so three strikes and you're out. We generally use all our weeks ourselves, but have been cruising a lot the last couple of years and once in a while we get ahead on timeshare weeks. Just trying to get our maintenance fee covered, but Redweek doesn't seem to be the place to do it.

No wonder owners’ weeks sit unrented on Koala. When potential guests who are ready and interested are treated this poorly, they simply move on… or are met with responses that feel unnecessarily hostile and disproportionate to basic requests for help.

For a platform operating in the vacation rental space, where timing, accuracy, and communication are everything, Koala's level of unreliability and poor customer service is completely unacceptable.

I wouldn’t want my bookings depending on Koala with that level of support. Very disappointed in Koala.
That’s terrible. I tried Redweek with my Wyndham points and it bombed. I was hoping Koala would be much better. Is your bad experience the norm?
