My Drive Home; King St., Kalakaua and Kuhio Ave.

Yup nice pics Jeff. You might try a detour to Young's Fishmarket for Hawaiian food, laulau plates or buy individual laulaus. It's in a little strip mall at Kalani and Kohou sts, off of Waiakamilo. Also in strip mall are Kamehameha and Ubae bakeries, and Sugoi plate lunch ( garlic chicken, I'd call Sugou to see if they're open.)

Dave, I too took the bus to McKinley high school from Liliha street, and the route still turns into King Street at Liliha-Dillingham. Got off just past concert hall/Blaisdell center.

There are sooooo many good places to eat here, my head is always spinning. I'll never be able to hit them all up but I am trying. :D
Mahalo for the suggestions.

Good fun. Always enjoy your pics of the city. Mahalo!

Mahalo, glad you enjoy them. Gives me something to do also. :D

I guess that is when celebrities actually came here to perform and not just vacation.
:D

Not used to the phone yet. It changed the spelling and I didn't notice. I went back and corrected it.

Before the pandemic celebrities still did perform in Honolulu. We usually don't go see many celebrities but I know Elton John performed here a number of times in the 2010's we met and flew with his back-up singers coming here one year from LA.

We have seen Diana Ross at Blaisdale, and Vanessa Williams at Blue Note.

A slight detour, but ABBA just announced a new album after a 40 year hiatus. They will be performing at a theater in London using avatars that are very lifelike, but look like the artist did in the late 70's. Look after the 2:50 mark of the first video.
