Please forgive the newbie question but I'm looking through the MVC point chart and see the footnote - 'Resort is available only through the MVC Exchange Company. Other resorts are available through the MVC Trust as well as the MVC Exchange Company'. This footnote is present for Boston, Wash D.C., Paris, and a number of other locations.

Does this mean that you can only book those properties using the Destination Points you get from enrolled weeks and NOT Trust DPs? Or something else entirely?

The vast majority, likely in the high 90% range, of all DC ressies are booked via the Exchange, which is where all the Trust weeks, Legacy weeks exchanged for points, and other weeks (from II, etc) are comingled. Any points can get at weeks there.

In very rare instances, usually in the 13 month booking window, there may be an occasional week that can only be snatched with Trust points, and those never reach the Exchange if snatched early, but will if they are still available at 12 months out, be moved into the Exchange so any points can get at them.

But to summarize, the great majority of the inventory makes it to...and the majority of reservations are made from....the Exchange, which is where you can use any type of points.

The reason the locations you listed above are listed/treated that way is that none of those locations have weeks in the Trust for various reasons (location is a Right to Use location, or is outside the U.S. so can't be in the trust, etc).

Hope that helps.

No, it only means that intervals from those properties haven't been conveyed to the DC Trust. While Exchange Points (from enrolled/converted Weeks) can be used to book intervals that are available only through the DC Exchange Company, Trust Points can be used to book Trust and Exchange Company intervals.

There are various reasons why a property may not be in the Trust. In the case of Boston's Custom House, those Weeks are deeded Right-To-Use because Marriott is leasing the property from the city of Boston. In the case of Wash DC's Mayflower, that property has only recently been added to the portfolio and may not have any intervals conveyed yet. It doesn't appear that any of the Euro properties can or will have any units conveyed.
