Rescission letter sent via email and they already confirmed receipt and will process immediately.

I really want to thank you, guys. You helped me save a bunch of money, regret, and headaches. Please let me know how I can return the favor.

Additionally, I will be signing up as a paid member of the Tug.

Next question... Now what do we do?!!!
Haha... I still like the club and my wife & kids are sold and excited about the concept. I suppose I need to settle into the forum here and start research some of the strategies you guys have so generously offered.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and thorough response. That looks like a solid strategy!
I had a broker offer me a westin kierland villas 2 bedroom lockout for 13.5K it’s worth 148K star options and the maint fee is around 1600 bucks. Best deal in the vistana system. 10K MVC points will be pricey.

Start with reading the sticky’s at the top of the forum and make some notes and ask questions! Try and funnel what your needs are locations, frequency, same resort or different etc as with that everyone can help you more.

First step is to assess what your vacation needs are and how you want to spend them as was asked of you at the very beginning of the thread. Then begin reading the information on the Marriott forum starting with the FAQ - Marriott Points System and then FAQ - Marriott Weeks System. Read and digest. Jot down questions as you’re reading to bring to the forum. That’s a great way to start. You will have lots of questions. I’m glad your family is excited. However, tell them just as I told my wife as we were building our dream house in Texas coming from from Southern California, “ Be Patient!” 9i had to try to hold on to my wallet.

I saw a seller basically giving his points away for peanuts on Facebook. Rescind and make sure you have everyone who signed the contract sign the rescission letter. Sent it certified USPS. FedEx or UPS may not be acceptable. Buy resale MVC points if you truly want MVC. Vistana mandatory deeds will give you great beach vacation options (St John, Bahamas, Mexico)
How/where do you find MVC resales on Facebook?

Join one of the many Facebook groups. Search for the timeshare name and resales or reseller, renters, owners etc.

csalter2 and others,

Question on recision - Would it be beneficial to reach out to the sales agent first indicating my intent to rescind to see if they will lower their point fee/renegotiate the deal?
No!! The salesman is much more likely to stall you until the deadline has passed and then tell you how "sorry" he is that it didn't get done in time. Best if you don't contact him or accept his calls. (He may call you and offer a slightly sweeter deal, but it won't be as good as resale.)

It’s all good. Rescinded! Thanks for the response.
