Can anyone provide recent feedback on the Marriot Monarch in Hilton Head? We were able to get a week at the Monarch in May and will be staying there with 2 small children. I was concerned based on some of the older reviews and was wondering if I should try to trade for the Grande Ocean or Barony instead...

Monarch is great with small children. Resort is smaller, beach is wonderful, trolley should be running to HarborTown. We have two boys, 6 and 3, Monarch is always a great experience.

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Along six Oceanfront acres within Hilton Head Island's renowned Sea Pines Plantation is Marriott's Monarch. Embracing the natural setting, your two-bedroom, two-bath villa offers amenities like a master suite, private balcony or patio, and full kitchen.
Please note—our resort will be undergoing multiple project renovations; sprinkler system, sidewalk replacement, and pool and deck resurfacing. The projects take place from December 3rd with an estimated competition date of Feb. 3rd, 2006 between 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Mon-Sat. You may experience limited parking during this time period and the usual noise associated with this type of construction. Limited use of pool facilities as well as occasional loud noise associated with jack hammering may affect your vacation experience. If you have any questions please contact the Monarch lobby at 1-(843)-363-3040 any day between 9-5.
We are going with check in February 25. Will post if they met their completion date or not.
