wow so even with all the name changes, and max....embarc is still going to truly be its own individual/unique/separate system?

sweet chocolate baby jesus, who thinks this stuff up!
It originates with the original master declaration for Club Intrawest - the lawyers who worked on that document made it so difficult to change anything of substance that Diamond didn't manage to in 7 years, even though they surely would have liked to.

In essence, you really are not going to be part of HGVC (just in name only). It is really a shame. You are going to be a separate club, maybe HGVC-Embarc or HGVC-CI. HGV has created a complete mess. At least DRI had your club as a different name.

HGV didn't create it really, they got it ready-made when they bought Diamond. Diamond treated us as separate for the 7 years they owned Embarc. Name change was required by the terms of sales with CI. Diamond wasn't permitted to keep it.

I do appreciate you keeping us informed of Embarc/CI. I rather have these issues (total confusion to noobs with HGV, HGVC, HVC, HC, bHC, and HGVC-Embarc/CI) than Apollo /DRI purchasing HGV. Right now, it looks like we all have our legacy clubs intact. The sales teams can have a field day with the uninformed.

To add to my first comment, I would say that most members are happy to have their club remain intact with no substantive changes. They were very concerned about getting an influx of "outsiders" (Hilton/Diamond) coming into the clubs and reducing availability. It's reassuring to them to know that this can only be done the same way it always has - through exchanging.

They chose to go the "Max" route to monetize the access instead.

TBD. I expect it will be more likely to monetize the lack of access (at least to what people would really want.)
