We're here for 2 weeks. Sunday we started our 2nd week and since we're in the same unit, they did a full cleaning. I left a tip on the counter in the master bathroom with a soap dish partially on it. When we came back to the unit later that day, the tip was still there?

Is this normal at MOC? How have others tipped housekeeping? We don't have a clue who cleaned the room while we were gone.

Next time, add a note that says Thank You on the money. Housekeeping won't touch money left in he room when in doubt.

I leave a note that says:

For the housekeeper

Thank you!

I read somewhere years ago to leave housekeeping tips on your pillow. I've always done that and it is always taken.

We usually just leave it on the bathroom cabinet or on the dresser. I know in some places the maids wont pick it up so that they wont get accused of taking/stealing money that was left out. Just didn't know if they had any kind of tip policy here at MOC: guests have checked out, the money is handed to them, or the old envelope/note trick. O'well.

MMOC Napili is our home resort and I always leave the tip with a note or in a very obvious location like the pillow. DH and I both tend to toss pocket change, including bills, on dresser or countertops. I just try to make it very clear that the money is for the housekeeper and a note accompanying seems to be the clearest way to do these IMHO.

I always leave a tip for the cleaners with a note next to it with a smiley or just thank you :) That way works every time!

Marriotts now have an envelope for housekeeping tips. I wonder why they don't do this for timeshares.

We also leave a tip with a thank you note attached for housekeeping services.
