We are booked to go to Mizner Place in early March. Any suggestions on where to visit around the area? We have never been to this area and would like to make the most of our few days there. Suggest some good spots to see ...tours....

This is near Weston right? If so, you're about 45 minutes from airboat tours of the everglades.

There is a town center shopping area nearby, it’s part of VV 3 resorts Mizner, Buena Venture, VV at Weston. You have use of all 3 resorts, there is a shuttle between them all. Golf Course, Pools and restaurants all in the area. Nice timeshares unit’s have lock outs, studios, 2 bedrooms. Activities too. We have stayed at each we recommend it.

When we stay in that area we usually do an airboat tour in the Everglades. We also enjoy riding the water taxi routes in Fort Lauderdale where the operator gives a commentary on who's mansions you are passing and a bit of history. If you enjoy shopping the big Sawgrass Mills outlet mall is about 15 mins away and the big flea market (the Swap Shop) that is on the grounds of a former multi-screen drive-in movie is about a 25 min drive away.

Oh, and check out my Youtube video of VV Weston for some video of an airboat tour.

We own there and have stayed at Misner Place a number of times but not in a few years. There are a few restauants and stores in the Village which are nice to visit and eat. It was a better town center when we bought in 2006. The Everglades are close by and there are a number of places and tours that you should visit. Someone mentioned the airboat tour that is near Route 75 Allegator Alley that is about 45 minutes away. That is a good everglades tour in the Northerm part of the Everglades that we took one of the first times we were there but there are others that are further away and deeper into the Everglades and worth considering. We have been to both Everglades City and Flamingo which are areas at the West and Deep Southern part of the Everglades. You need to drive a little furhter for each but the tours give some additional and interesting view of the vast Everglades. Also there is a Seminoles Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum in Clewiston, FL near route 75 in the Everglades which give you some interesting historical and walking tour of this area of this area of the country.

Enjoy, we did.

If you are there on a weekend go to the Yellow Green farmers market. It is huge and very nice.
