We recently went to a wedding and were surprised to see how much information was missing from the program handed out in the church. I don't know if the family put it together without thinking things through, or if it was intentional. But since the people in the wedding and relatives often keep theirs as a memento, in the future anyone looking at one will not get key facts in the family history.

Missing from the program:
Name of bride and groom
Name of parents and grandparents
Time, date and place of the wedding

(At least the wedding party and order of service was listed).
Then on the back, a typo. It read 'Thank you for being apart of our day' which actually meant the opposite of what they intended 'a part of our day'.
And then no name again, of who was giving the thanks!

All kind of funny. So many details in planning a wedding, and they missed quite a few here.

Wow, what a mess.

I can't believe the bride and groom were left out!

Tacky, tacky, tacky.

Maybe they figured if you were there, you knew who they were -- too funny actually!

In a similar vein, we just got a birth announcement with a photo of the baby and her first and middle names. No parental info, no last name on the announcement.
The return envelope had the name of Mr and Mrs. Whoever, but neither my DH or DS/DD knew who it was - it is a cousin who they all know well, but they had no idea of her new married name... I thought omitting this info was a little silly too.

How funny!!

We recently went to a wedding and the bride was clearly close to delivering her first baby- no one at the wedding made any mention of it and we had no idea prior to seeing her on the altar. Needless to say everyone there could see she was about to start labor- it was like the elephant in the room that no one spoke about. Her parents are quite proper so I suppose they thought it could be just ignored. Anyway we got a birth announcement soon after the wedding!!! That came before the thank you notes!!! Denial is a great thing.

Instead of denial it could well have been acceptance. Times have changed......my parents would have sent me away, probably for good. (And I'm not saying that's a good thing - just that it's what would have happened 30 or so years ago.)

My only sister was 16 and seven months pregnant when she got married back in the mid-1960s. My Mother was none too pleased with things, (as you can imagine), and she disliked the groom immensely, for a variety of reasons beyond the obvious one. She showed everyone her true feelings by wearing all black to the wedding...

Today it is very fashionable to wear black to a wedding, unlike years ago. Even the bridal party sometimes wears black. How times have changed.
