You're right. I think I remember telling this to an OC rep who said I could book 1 night.
But documentation seems to be meddled with.

A good part of what we talk about is speculation. I certainly didn't intend it to be considered fact, the word "Perhaps" means it is clearly speculation. Not trying to be negative but need to remind people that the last couple posts are speculation, not fact.
I went to the documents at owners.marriottvacationclub.com and looked for special small print that would change the ability for Chairman level to reserve 1 night if the availability was there. There is no small print saying a resort can overrule the ability for Chairman level to reserve 1 night.
However, when you do it online, you will find that there are many instances which show that you can book for longer stay but not for shorter stays. Real life vs. documentation.
So it is not too clear to me... but someone posted that even by calling owner services, the rep is unable to book a shorter stay when it is blocked out. If so, are you all saying that go ahead and book the full 7 nights and then immediately call owner services to drop to whatever nights you don't need before 60 days?Oh I do believe that's happening. I'm just trying to point out that there's nothing in the documents saying this could happen.
Just to clarify that is exactly what I am saying. So it is not too clear to me... but someone posted that even by calling owner services, the rep is unable to book a shorter stay when it is blocked out.
