Does anyone know of a reputable breeder in the New England area.

They are so darn cute! I would love a male one someday.

But now I recently had a dream about a slender, medium sized mutt named Faith (kind of like a black lab mix) and the dream was very symbolic so when I do move I am going to be on the look out for her at a shelter.

We bought a Black Labadoodle about 5 years ago. Very smart and very gentle. No shedding. Rex has always been attentive but now he is crazy attentive. I wake up and he is looking at me at about two feet away. He sits and watches me watching tv. Right now he is at my side. He is about 60 pounds and very good with the grand kids and other people. Really smart breed, imo.

I love them too and hope that one is in our future. Currently we have a rescue that was supposedly a Lab mix, but as the past two years have gone by I am pretty sure that she is anything but Lab. She isn't food motivated, doesn't give a darn about tennis balls, and is so low energy that jumping up on the sofa is just too much effort. But she is the best dog that we have ever owned.

She was 6ish when we adopted her and we are at least her third family :( but she came to us potty trained, able to use the dog door, doesn't bark except at the dog park, doesn't counter surf, gets along with everyone - human, canine, and feline. She comes when called, and stays when told. She doesn't even pull when on leash. She used to not beg at the dinner table but someone (I'm looking at you, dear husband) has ruined that. She wags her tail whenever one of us comes into her field of vision. She is simply amazing. She was trimmed up when we got her but now has long fur and looks like a miniature Newfoundland. (She's about 65 lbs, so not a newfie!)

I know that we have a few doodles at the dog park, and a couple of them are rescues, so you can always go that route in addition to looking for a breeder.

Makes you wonder why you were the dog's third Family. I got two great dogs, 1 from the pound and 1 from a rescue. We were their ONLY family. They were both terrific. But I did spend some time early on training them. The Husky Shepard mix, at 8 weeks of age, took one afternoon to be potty trained. One afternoon and that was it. The Blue Heeler/ Greyhound mix was 9 months when we got him from the rescue and was already potty trained. So really the focus of my training was on good behavior and listening and obeying commands. I ended up getting the Blue Heeler mix certified as a Pet Therapy dog as he was go good with just about every one. The Husky mix was way to particular about who she liked.

But they both were fantastic dogs and both lived to 15 years of age.
