I know that there can be differences in MF for the same number of points at the same resort, due to conversion times, etc.
However, I see on eBay an auction for 98,000 points at Star Island. Although this is twice the points I have, the MF is actually listed as LESS than I pay (about $18 per month instead of my about $23 per month). This seems a big difference--less than half of what I'm paying per point!
Is this possible? The seller has no feedback and no previous sales, soooo . . . I'm a "little" leery.
Thanks.

They are leaving the taxes off. Common error and/or ploy to make the fees look better.

Leaving off the taxes, the FSP fee and working from a MF bill from 2006?

When I first read this post, I thought - Yep, two resorts and the fees are different. What I own as a fixed week is about $200 per this year cheaper in MF than the equivalent point unit for my week. Only part of price difference is FSP plan fee and yes, my fixed week includes the tax bill. The rest is the different point value for different weeks. Generally, fixed week owners all pay the same MF.

I guess I wasn't clear. I own 49,000 points at Star Island, and pay about $23 MF. The auction is for 98,000 points at Star Island, yet lists MF as about $18. Same resort, HUGE difference in MF.

OK, I've received an answer from the seller. He writes:
"Usually Wyndham attaches taxes to the monthly maintenance fee. It looks like last year's taxes were $31.36 though (by itself)."
Therefore, I deduce that the actual MF is the $18.62 he mentions in the listing, PLUS $31.36, which totals $49.98 per month, much closer to my $23 for half the number of points.
