I booked Barony for a March 27 check-in date but I need April 16, 17, 18 check in instead. It does not have to be Barony, any of the South Carolina ocean fronts. Any ideas? I'm going to call Marriott tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do.

You could also call II and see if they could do an instant exchange for you. They likely have the inventory available as we were confirmed to Barony for April within one day of placing the request.

We check out on the 17th, so if you get in on the 16th, we may see you in passing. We will just watch for some guy that looks like John Candy?

I don't understand how you goof a reservation like that. I could perhaps see making a reservation for the same dates, only a month earlier. How did you make that mistake? Perhaps you could blame it on the wife?:D

Bite your tongue, wives don't make mistakes. Somehow I thought that the kid's Spring Break started in late March instead of mid April.

Unfortunately you are within the 60 day window so that will limit your choices. You can't cancel, and if you deposit with II, you will be limited to flexchange exchanges only. You may be able to get II to do an instant exchange even though when you do want to travel is more than 60 days out.

Do you have any other weeks you could deposit or have on deposit that you can exchange to get the April week you really want? If so, you can just deposit the March week to make sure you get something from it, even though it will be limited to flexchange only.

Where we live in the South the women have a saying" If Momma ain't Happy, nobody in the House will be Happy". The men have a saying " I would rather be Happy then Right".

I assume this an exchange and I know all the rules about don't rent, etc. etc.. However if you're in a jam, you may want to consider some type of rent arrangement, that week should be relatively in high demand at Barony.

The week of April 16 seems like it would have lower demands where the cash price wouldn't be bad.

You are just a year ahead of time. Spring break next year is the week you reserved this year (at least where I live).

I listed the week for rent because Marriott told me that they could not modify the reservation 60 days out. Interval did not have anything available. In the best of all possible worlds, I'll get lucky and rent my week out and then turn around and rent someone else's week for about the same price.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi Charles,

You might post it here in the exchange forum, too. Someone may be able to direct swap with you.

I have the preliminary 2011-2012 school schedule up on the frig, it came out in November, will be tweaked at March board meeting. My DH was going off on a Spring Break 2012 tangent, and I referred him to the calendar, because he was a week plus off in his thinking.

Don't worry we had to cancel an RCI exchange once because the district has decided that we don't need the full 2 weeks off at Xmas. Luckily this was in March and bought insurance so I cancelled and found a week/destination that worked for us.

Keep searching online in II. Something is bound to show up. I would also place a request for the week you want, request first. Once flexchange hits your request will be canceled if it isn't filled first, and then you can check several times a day for something in flexchange.
