@SmithOp i read your post in the help guide area, but didn't see a way to reply to it. in the post you provided instructions for walking a reservation, thanks!

this may not be all that critical, but I'm curious if you, or anyone else, know if you can be on the change reservation screen at 11:59pm, and the new day will come available at 12:00, or do you wait for 12:00 and then click on change reservation?

But, I have noticed that recently the night will be available as a new reservation but not when you go to change it. You have two options then: call CS and have them do it or cancel the reservation, watch for it to show to again, and then quickly rebook it with the day added on

I have done it both ways. The second way is more risky

Also, look at the HGVC portal guide. There is a section on walking.

i think that is the one I read.

another question, if I am walking and see no new availability in the days prior to the next day I want, is there risk of me not getting that next day, if I wait until the morning to walk it, instead of right at midnight?

e.g. i want the 16th, already have 10-15th.

looking at the resort, the unit type that i am walking has nothing free for the 14-15th.

any risk i don't get the 16th the next morning?

I usually get my foot in the door at midnight and then walk in the morning for the rest. Check in day cross overs may be worth doing at midnight though

how do you determine the checkin day crossover?
Typically, the primary check in days are Saturdays so when you are walking and it comes to adding Friday night or even Saturday night, it may be worth staying up to do it

I'm on the west coast so the date change is 9pm for me, a lot easier to catch it then than wait until the next morning.

I wait until after 12pm eastern to hit the change reservation, if you try earlier I don't think you see the new day. My impression is that it queries the system when you click the button but it's not refreshed when you are sitting looking at it. In other words you see available units at the time you click to start the query, then it stays static while you look at it.

If you don't see it at midnight, check again early the next morning.

Good luck!

Yes, the screen needs to be refreshed to see updates or, at least, the date search bar. There are tricks
