... or securing the rental to sell. I have read most of the articles about where to post ads for timeshare rentals, how to check if they are real, making sure you get the money, how to pay the money, etc. What about the how to? If I want to rent my week, do I simply make myself a reservation for the time and then change to the 'renters' name when I have one? Are there any timeshares that do not allow you to rent out your week (or any week you can legally make a reservation for)? I am not sure of the steps to follow.

Personally I reserve a high demand week and list that for rent on Redweek, then change to renters name when the deal is consummated with payment. I would think almost all TSs can be rented by an owner but there may be restrictions in some programs as to the weeks you can select to rent or exchange

You are not permitted to rent out weeks that you've obtained via exchange through RCI. (I'm not sure about II as I'm not a member there)
