My daughter is confirmed for January in a 2br and we know that it only has a Kithenette with a small fridge and microwave plus rangetop.

My question is does the second BR have another small fridge, Coffee maker, microwave and sink or is it strictly like a hotel room?

My daughter is bringing a lot of food so it would be difficult with only 1 small fridge.

There is no small fridge, MW, or coffeemaker in the hotel unit (2nd bedroom). The fridge in the 1-bedroom side is small (think large dorm size fridge) and is under the counter. The cooktop has 2 burners and the MW is on a shelf over the countertop. We always take a rolling cooler as luggage to keep things in when we go. Generally it is full of pop, beer, and bottled water. That leaves space for other things in the fridge. We generally do not cook much when there, but do like to eat breakfast in our room and usually have sandwich makings for lunch.

The Grand units have larger refrigerators - but still not full sized compared to what Americans have in their homes. We will be staying in a Grand with a 10 month old at Thanksgiving, so I'm sure the fridge will be full of his stuff and the rolling cooler will have all the adult stuff in it.

Just take a huge water proof garbage bag and an insulated blanket (Big tinfoil sheet) and some large ziplock bags. When you empty your suitcase you can line it with your insulator and plastic bag and fill your baggies with free ice.

INSTANT FRIDGE

But really eating at their restaurants wasn't that expensive to us, and the food is very good.

Have fun!!

I agree with above posts but also note that with the $25 per bag for second bags on most airlines now traveling with a lot of food probably will not pay. Walmart in Playa del Carmen. We have stayed at the resort many times and a few tips for the small fige is bring a bowl/starage container if you are planing to make or store anthing of sive as they have pans and storage containers. Best to make the size comperable to 2ltr bottle in diameter or think stackable squares if you want to get a lot in. Also note that the freezer is very!very! small and works so so. We brought chicken nuggets last year and they staied cold but not hard frozen. Good luck
