We have done the Trilogy Molokini snorkel trip several times and really enjoyed it, especially when they are able to use the sails. Question is, we are going back to Maui in July and may want to try a different trip. Any suggestions?

Our all-time favorite snorkel trip is the Trilogy all day Catamaran trip to Lanai. It is pricey, but includes 3 good meals, snorkeling, beach activities & beach equipment, a Lanai tour, and then you sip champagne while anchored off the coast of Maui to watch the sunset! It's well worth it. Discover Lanai Sunset Sail

It is pricey - but we really enjoyed it. Snorkel is not as good as Molokini. Hate to say it - if it is snorkel you really like - go back to Molokini.

Save yourself the money, and go where the snorkel boats go. At the north end of the island there is a Marine Nature Reserve. You can drive, park along side of road, and it is a short walk. There is an old boat ramp that makes it easy to get into the water. The snorkel boats and in both the am and pm, and dock in the bay. It is just north of the Ritz-Carlton.

Molokini is terrible for snorkeling compared to Capt. Cook's Monument on the Big Island. It's not even close. Molokini is way too crowded, you're in a much smaller confined area, and the view is definitely not as good.

I think Molokini used to be good, but now they have a dozen or more boats out there at a time. I was very disappointed. If you want a boat trip, I still recommend Trilogy, but Maui also has excellent shore snorkeling - for free!
