Maui Diving Scuba Center

Although I've never dove with them (I'm a fan of Lahaina Divers) I think I remember seeing their shop in Lahaina kind of behind Hard Rock Cafe if I remember correctly. From their website I see they are affiliated with PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), which is the "Seal of Approval" for dive shops and they must adhere to strict standards. PADI is recognized throughout the world and I'm quite sure they are still the largest certifying organization for scuba diving. By going thru the PADI certification, I learned a lot and learned a lot about diving safely. Much depends on the instructor. I would meet with the instructor a couple of days prior to class to be sure you feel comfortable with him or her. If you are considering certification, I would strongly recommend that you take the classroom and pool exercises at home just prior to leaving, then do the 4 open water dives while on vacation. This will save some precious vacation time and give you a little more time to work on any skills that may be difficult.

You may also want to consider where you are staying on the Island when selecting a shop.

I am planning to stay in WKORV and it seems like Maui Diving Scuba Center is close by there. Their cost is $189 for certification and $30 for license.
I called and asked about e learning before heading to Maui, he said we can learn at Maui and finish it in few days.
What is the average cost for certification?
