I am thinking of swapping out my Westin Princeville (WPORV) exchange week with a Maui Banyan week. I love WPORV, but the check-in dates for the Maui Banyan work better and my flights were booked way ahead of time and we actually depart from OGG. Therefore, as much as we love WPORV, we will have to fly to OGG a few days prior to departure and find another place just for 2 days and deal with rental cars, etc... This is after coming from HNL the weed prior, so two interisland flights and exchanging of rental cars for a 16 day trip.

We typically like staying in Marriott, Westin, HGVC and DVC properties. We have stayed at Hanalei Bay Resorts and enjoyed it here. But we went to a Diamond Resort once and was not happy with the room we were given, although this resort (which shall remain nameless) is loved by many. I believe we were just given a bad room, because the location and the resort grounds were nice.

Reviews on TUG and tripadvisor are mixed, with Owners that get remodeled rooms and exchangers getting older rooms. How has the experiences been with other Tuggers? Thanks.

The Maui Banyon is not the same quality as the Westin resorts. I would not trade a Westin for it.

Half the units have a view of the parking ramp.

I would rather go to Kihei and be across the street from the beach than to go to Priceville and have to drive to the beach or hike down a cliff trail. Kihei is a much better destination, imo.
