If you cook at home but don’t know the name Judith Jones, you almost certainly still owe her a debt of gratitude. Ms. Jones, 91, edited some of the greatest cookbooks of the 20th century — most famously, those of Julia Child, but also works by Madhur Jaffrey and Lidia Bastianich, among others. (And, oh yeah, she also worked with Langston Hughes and John Updike.) This lovely piece is mostly her side of a series of conversations with the writer, Charlotte Druckman, and there are some gems for food nerds. For example: “I think what’s going to be in for the next decade is emphasis on food as medicine, until we go crazy and don’t even want to eat food.” ...
