Marriott's Ocean Pointe Owners and Friends

I always forget about that thing. I understand I’m probably in the minority, but I’ve never been a big fan of that thing
 
Does the check-in day have any impact on which building you're assigned to?

We have three exchanges booked for an extended family Christmas visit and two are Thursday check-ins (2 bedroom) and one is a Friday check-in (1 bedroom). We would prefer to all be in the same building and not Kingfish - several little kids will want to pool hop!

Any tips on coordinating this?

This will be our first visit to MPB!
 
You should receive a pre-checkin email about 3 weeks before your checkin date. That's where you will be able to request a building area, special requests for the unit (pillows, handicap, etc.). You will also be able to list other confirmation codes associated with your reservation. That's how you will get everyone's unit in the same building and perhaps the same floor. You can also call directly a month or 2 in advance and ask how to assure that all of the units you have reserved will be close together.
 
Is anyone at OP now that can comment on the current construction to the parking lot and pool areas?
I have read the Cobia/Pompano pool is now closed for a couple of months and there is resurfacing of the parking lots going on in the Sailfish and Pompano buildings.
I am curious how that is affecting the crowds at the Pool between the Sailfish and Dolphin buildings and parking in general around the resort?
I appreciate any info on this, TIA.

I understand they are doing work on one of the pools and redoing the parking lot. How much did this inconvience your vacation?

We will be visiting Singer Island next month, staying at Oceana Palms.

Does anyone know if Ocean Pointe has Pickleball courts available? I remember they had several tennis courts across the street. Just wondering if any of those were converted to PB courts? Could we use them if staying at Oceana Palms?

They do still have the courts across the street and it did look like they had lines painted on them for pickleball when we were there earlier this month. I don't know if you can use them when staying at Oceana Palms. You will want to call the resort and ask or ask after you've checked in.
 
At Ocean Pointe now. The chair situation at the Sailfish/Dolphin Pool has been fine although the weather has not been great so that may be why. Spoke to someone who was here last week who said people were coming down early because chairs were tough to come by. They have put off the Parking lot construction until next year as they said it was too much going at the same time with the Pool construction which seems to be moving at a snail's pace.
Tennis courts are lined for Pickleball but pretty sure only available to Ocean Pointe guests.

How long will the pool work take?
 
Looks like they closed the Pompano Fitness Center, locker room and sauna for "Preventative Maintenance" for a week (from 10/25-11/1) so everyone is instructed to use the Kingfish gym. If anyone needs some beach chairs and will be here later this week I have 4 I can pass along (on Wednesday night or Thursday morning).

Sure could use those early December. :cry:
 
Some may already be aware but it was mentioned at the owners breakfast the other day that the Sailfish Building will be completely closed for at least 4 months in 2027 when they do the 30 year renovation to the building. Normally they do a floor at a time but they decided to close the whole building since drywall and plumbing is being ripped out and replaced. The Parking lot repaving that was supposed to happen this month got pushed back to sometime in 2026 as they were worried it might carry on into the busy months and not be finished if they started it now. The pool chair situation this past week at the Sailfish Pool was not too bad even with the Cobia Pool being closed. It does give the resort a different feel though with that area being closed and some of the adult activities moving to Sailfish.

I got the annual meeting notification USPS
Mail. Looks like the propose fee for 26 is going up substantially. Had to run out and left the mail at home. Hope I am reading that wrong. But I am having price shock. Again!

The proposed budget is based on fully funded reserves.
