Marriott's BeachPlace Towers Ft Lauderdale, FL - It's As Bad as We Remember

We always enjoyed Beach Place Towers. After our first time there we learned about the week parking ticket through the garage. After checking in, go to the bottom floor to the main office of the garage. I believe it is in a corner near the main entrance.(there are signs pointing to the location) You must have your slip showing that you are a guest at BPT and then they will rent you the week that is cheaper than the $14 a day. If you are staying two weeks, I believe the fee was even cheaper. We usually parked on a higher level just below the Marriott parking floors. There is an entrance which is very similar to the owners' level on that floor. While we were in Ft. Lauderdale we always went to Kelly's Landing which has the BEST lobster and clams from MA. I have not been back because of my husband's death in 2018, but we loved it and went every late January or February.
We LOVE Kelly's Landing too. We go there multiple times during our stay. They have great seafood specials daily. I'm so sorry about the loss of your husband.

Different strokes for different folks! We like all three resorts, BeachPlace, Ocean Point and Oceana Palms. All off different experiences and since we are doing more timeshare driving trips here in FL, it’s nice to have 3 different vacations.

We haven’t been back to BPT this year because they were still requiring reservations and time limits at the pool ias of June, and we like to go to the pool whenever we want to.

Since we own there, we don’t have to pay the parking fee, so that’s not an issue for us. But we only once had the oceanfront view and it was too busy/noisy for us. We since then always ask for the intracoastal view and love it.

We also walk to many good restaurants, all less than a 15 minute walk.

We ask for a luggage cart at the desk if we can’t find one…we always get one.

We also ask for a high floor, because it’s actually easier to get the elevator when you’re on a high floor.

The one thing that drove us crazy on our first trip there, was on the weekends, trying to get out of the parking garage if you’re going out for dinner. The parking garage backs up really badly… So we started walking to restaurants on the weekend and if we want to drive somewhere we usually do it mid week.

The nice thing about owning with Marriott, is that if you don’t like one, there’s still so many others you can go to.

If BPT is so bad, why do they have a very high monthly occupancy rate ?

We like Crystal Shores too, but liked it better when it wasn’t built out. We like to be ocean front and the walk from the car is now SO far….and since we like to bring a cart to the beach wchairs and umbrella, this resort doesn’t work for us so well.

But, I agree it IS a beautiful resort, especially if you like pools. It’s also a nice island with lots of good food. The rooms are wonderful and the views are good.

One other issue that prevents us from booking far out is red tide. We live on the West Coast of Florida in the last several years there’s been quite a few red tides… It’s really horrendous and therefore we wouldn’t risk booking far out, and as I’m sure you know it’s not so easy to book Crystal Shores last minute.

So we’ll get back there eventually…
