OK - so I think this is a new one. I have a platinum Harbour Lake (post-2010) resale in Interval...I've had it for a little over a year and locked off and traded both parts last year no problem. This year I locked off and deposited only the 1BR portion so I could pick up a sighting, leaving my studio not booked yet in MVC. So now I go in to Interval and the week itself is just gone...no mention of Harbour Lake at all under My Units. My other holdings are there.

I called Interval and they have no idea what happened. It just "disappeared" and they can't explain it. They offered to deposit a supplemental week but I want to get to the bottom of this first (and I want the Easter week for a higher TDI anyway). They told me to call Marriott. Ugh.

This is simply how it works for Harbour Lake. Once you deposit one side of the lock off, the whole unit then disappears. It has done this with our Harbour Lake unit since we bought in 2009. This is different than how Grande Vista/Florida CLub works. WIth that resort, when you deposit one side, the other side remains as an available unit to exchange with. THe only way to get the other side of Harbour Lake deposited is to call and ask them to deposit it. It will then usually show up as a "Supplemental Deposit" with the Harbour Lake photo associated to it.

But shouldn't I at least see evidence of the ownership existing in Interval under My Units, even if there's nothing deposited?

I can still see the studio available for booking and depositing on Marriott. Do I need to call them, or Interval?

I am not really sure about that. Are you depositing your 2024 weeks? If so, the whole thing might disappear until they load in the 2025 weeks mid year. Call II back and be sure you are talking to the Marriott Desk. Ask them for a Supplemental Deposit. It sounds like you have already traded out the 1BR for something? Once they make the Supplemental Deposit, it will show back up again.

Yes, these are 2024 weeks and I did exchange the 1 BR side already. If I Owner Deposit the other half, will that just disappear?

You've already deposited and exchanged using the 1BR. That made the whole unit for 2024 disappear. If 2025 had already been loaded or if you didn't deposit and exchange 2023 already, you would still have the Harbour Lake unit show up with the 2023 and/or 2025 usage as available. My experience has always been when depositing one half, the entire use year disappears. If you owner deposit the studio side, now, it should show up as available for exchange. You just have to call to deposit it.

I have also always had the same experience with my Harbour Lake unit. You need to call Marriott or Interval to deposit the second half.

Wow good information to know

This happens with my Harbour Lake Platinum every time. Its annoying. But to deposit the 2nd half of the lockoff you have to call and have them do it for you.

Thanks, folks. Good to know...never happened before as I usually deposit both sides at once.

If you deposit the full 2BR or deposit both sides over the phone, you would never see this.

Ok stupid questions, please bear with me as I am trying to research if I want to add an Orlando specific Marriott location.

this is only harbor lake correct?
If you deposit the full 2 bedroom it cannot be locked off once it’s in interval correct?
and again I may be misinterpreting but using @jmhpsu93 example- does that studio still show on the MVC side for booking? If so once booked can it than be deposited online…

Once you deposit the 2BR, you can't lock off. What @jmhpsu93 was doing is that they locked off already, deposited the 1BR and then couldn't deposit the studio unit online with II. They would have to call to deposit. I don't know how Lakeshore Reserve works, but if you own Grande Vista it works differently. With Grande Vista you can deposit the one side of the lock off online and then the other side shows up as available to deposit. No need to call. This is more of just a nuisance thing to deal with rather than a major issue with how you use the week for deposit and exchange.

When you make a reservation online with MVC, you can reserve either side of the lock off then make the reservation for the other side. This issue explained in this thread is just unique to II. Other Marriott resorts may have this issue also and I am surprised we don't see it brought up more often in the forum.

@jmhpsu93 @dioxide45
Thanks for alerting others to this issue. I always deposit both sides of Willow Ridge at once, so I was unaware of this issue with Harbour Lake.
That's usually how I would do it as well. This was a weird situation where I needed one unit to trade right away to grab a sighting that we wanted.

Do you deposit online or are depositing the whole 2BR unit? Or do you call to make the deposit?

Lol doesn’t happen with Willow Ridge. I deposited only one side last year and kept the other…

It shows the option to deposit the other…

I think that’s why I was confused reading it but if it’s specifically Harbor Lake it’s definitely good to know

I think the issue is with how they built out Harbour Lake. It was originally just planned to be a resort with 2BR dedicated units. So when the resort was setup in the II system, they just had the 2BR unit available to exchange with. When Marriott built the last four buildings they added lock off units with 1BR and studios now available. So II had to do something to remedy this. So they probably just added those unit types as available to exchange/deposit. This is unlike how all other Marriott resorts with lock offs were built. All were built from the begining with lock offs in the plan. So they programmed them differently.

This is how our Harbour Lake unit shows up in My Units on the II website;

However, even though we own a 2BR at Grande Vista, My Units only shows the single 2BR as available to exchange and then when you make a deposit of one side of the lock off, the 2BR unit disappears and the opposite side from what was deposited shows up. I suspect this is how most other Marriott resorts with lock offs works?

Yes its just a glitch with Harbor Lake. The II reps must deal with it a lot because they always know what i'm talking about when i call to deposit the other side. You would think II would fix this known ongoing issue, but alas they have not.

When I deposit the other half later, do I reserve the week with Marriott and have them deposit it, or do I just ask for the Supplemental Week? And does it have the same TDI trade power?

A glitch that has been happening for 14 years.

You would want your reservation from Marriott first, then call II to make the deposit. I suppose you could also ask Marriott to deposit it, but it won't show up as available right away. It might take them a day or more to get it deposited.

Interesting. That looks the same as Harbour Lake, but works differently when deposited. If you click Deposit Unit for the two bedroom, do you then get a drop down to pick the actual unit type/size?
