In the summer of 2020 we are planning a family reunion at the Marriott Ko Olina resort. We last had a reunion in 2015 at the Aruba Surf Club and it was a big success.
How would you advise me to make the accommodations whether it be through direct reservations, Marriott internal trades, points, renting etc. and how would you prioritize and leverage my current portfolio to get the best and least expensive outcome?
We will need 6 bedrooms to accommodate everyone involved and we want to avoid anyone sleeping on the living room sofa-couch, if possible. Ocean views are not a priority.
Here are the assets I have to work with to accomplish my goal: (1) a 2 bedroom platinum OV week at Ko Olina (2) a 3 bedroom gold week at Aruba Surf Club (3) a 2 bedroom platinum Newport Coast week (4) 2,250 banked DC points with 2020 usage.
Using item #1 above first is a no brainer, but after that what would be the best way to go and in what order as I am not sure of the trading power of my other Marriott weeks? How hard will it be to line up all the weeks seeing that it will be during the busy summer time? Thanks in advance!
