I love the fact that TS exchanges, getaways via II count towards MR nights. Here is my scenario:

Friday to Friday booked at Sable palms
Sunday to Sunday booked at Ocean Club

Fly into Orlando for Friday, leave on Sunday to go to Ocean club for 4 nights then back to Orlando for the last night.

Will I get 9 MR nights if I put my MR# on both reservations?
Obviously I can't be at both places at one. But, wondering how MR would handle.

I never officially check out of any resort when I leave for the sole purpose of getting the most nights...even if I'm not there.

Thoughts?

Chances are you will get all fourteen nights. It is hard to tell. Technically, you are only entitled to nine nights total since there is an overlap. But the resorts will report the nights separately and on different dates. So the 7 nights will post from the Sabal Palms stay, then the Ocean Club will report their 7 nights. They usually report a day or two after your stay, so the days each actually post will be different, thus credit for both as two full 7 night stays.

This has been our experience in the past, but YMMV.

My experience is that you will get 14 nights also. Happens most of the time that we get credit for overlapping stays, but you might only get 9 nights credit.

I've never had that situation come up with two separate resorts, but I've had it happen several times with one resort, and in THOSE cases, only one of the two posted and I had to call in and have it manually adjusted to get credit. In both cases, I only got credit for the unique nights, not the extra night from the overlap. As a Platinum, I also only got the 500 point arrival gift for the first reservation.

I can see it being different if they are separate resorts, but wanted to throw my experience into the mix.

I've not done this with MVCI properties, but I have quite a few times done it with normal Marriott hotels. My experience has been similar to what others have stated, I received night credit for all the nights (14 nights in your situation.)

But as also previously noted, you technically should only get credit for 9 nights. But Marriott normally won't ever catch it. Note it is possible that you could get the full 14 night credit and at a future point Marriott notices (i.e. audit) that you shouldn't have received some of those nights and removes them. If that happens, they won't notify you and you won't see that removal transaction in your stay history either. They just do it and leave no trace that those extra nights were ever there.

OP will probably get 14 nights credit as a practical matter, with a slight chance it will be only 9. There is really no chance OP will get only 7 nights credit, but the rules say it should actually be only 7 nights, not 9. That is because you are supposed to actually be physically staying at a resort to get credit, and OP will only be staying at a resort for 7 nights. OP's situation seems like an expensive overlap (one week for the price of two) unless someone else is using the "empty" villa in OP's absence.

How do you get your exchange stay count for MR nights? I'm staying at Marriott Waiohai right now, and I just stayed at Ko Olina a week ago, please advise how can I get one or both stay counted?

For last week, you will need to submit a missing stay request online. For this week, visit the front desk and have them add your Marriott Rewards number to your stay and you will get credit after checkout.

Is it possible your MR number was already added to your reservations?
Your stay a week ago may just not have posted yet, it can take 7-10? days from check out.

Thank you guys for the advices. I'll stop by the front desk later today:p.

Well....decided I was crazy giving up days in Aruba to hang onto the Orlando week. We decided to stay the full week in Aruba and give the Orlando week to a friend.

So, in the end....just gonna get my 7 nights for Aruba. But, will take it!!

I simply couldn't get excited about yet another week in Orlando.

If you attach your MR number to the Orlando week and your friend doesn't have one, you could still get the nights.

I was wondering why you were only going to Aruba for four of the days and picking Orlando over Aruba. You made a good choice.

I was wondering about that. I was thinking when I get her the guest cert I should put in her name and in mine and attach my number.

I book getaways for friends at Marriotts from time to time. When is the best time to attach my number? Before the guest cert I assume
